5 tips to speed up your social media content creation by Maker Biz Graphics

Do you wish there was a way to speed up your social media content creation? Does creating posts take too much time out of your week and prevent you from getting back to doing what you love? If you are a Maker time in the studio is precious and probably where you would rather be, so here are 5 tips to help you speed up the process:

1. Use templates

You can buy pre-made templates and use them to help you whizz through creating your socials. These types of templates are usually designed to let you add your own text and/or brand colours, but the design is done for you, so this can save you time. Tip: When choosing customisable templates, make sure the design is a good fit with your own brand.

2. Batch create your posts in advance

You will have heard of batching before, but with your social media posts you could batch create a number of the same types of posts at once eg. quotes. (To do this, I recommend using Canva. There is a free version you can use or a paid option which includes more features.) Then either save them to your phone, or use a scheduling app and upload them so they are on hand when you need them.

3. Save images to your photos

Once you have created your posts, you can save the images to your photo library on your phone. Then even save them to a file so they are easy to find. This way you can post directly from your phone when you need to. This is handy for creating posts for Instagram Stories.

4. Save your CTAs on your phone

With every social media post include a call to action (often referred to as a CTA). A few ideas are to:

  1. Ask your audience to visit your link in profile to get a downloadable freebie to join your email list.
  2. To help get a greater reach and get more eyeballs on your posts,  ask people to share your post.
  3. Suggest your post is saved by the reader to refer back to it later.

Write out these CTAs in a way that suits your audience and save the copy on your phone (eg. in Notes on iphone). Then simply copy and paste the CTA into your post each time to save time writing the same message out each time you post.

5. Repurpose images using different brand colours

You could create some posts with a frame around an image in one of your branding colours. Then after at least 9 posts (so the same image doesn’t appear in your 9-grid) you could reuse the same image but change the colour of the frame to a different brand colour for a different look. Then just write a new caption.

I hope these tips help you speed up your social media content creation, so you can get back to doing what you love!
